Jonathan Maker is a small furniture company based in North East London, specialising in the design and manufacture of handmade bespoke furniture. We produce high-quality fitted and freestanding contemporary furniture that’s stylish, functional, and built to last. Every piece is made with care, combining considered design with practicality and long-term durability.
Much of our work is designed for private homes — whether it’s a one-off cabinet, lounge storage, or a bespoke kitchen, our furniture is tailored to suit the needs of the people who live with it.
COLLABORATION
We also collaborate with like-minded businesses on larger interior projects. Over the years, we’ve worked on a range of residential and commercial interiors — often in close partnership with architects, interior designers, and creative studios. These projects typically include fitted furniture or specialist joinery designed to integrate with the broader scheme.
SUSTAINABILITY
In addition to bespoke projects, we also design and produce limited edition furniture and small product ranges for retail. These pieces are sold exclusively through Stornish.com, and they allow us to explore the development of unique products, usually batch produced and guided by sustainable practices.

Although we’re based in Walthamstow, East London, we take on projects across the city and increasingly throughout the UK. Wherever the project is, we approach it with the same attention to detail and responsiveness, regardless of scale or location. At its core, our work is about making useful furniture that’s considered, well built, and appropriate to its context. Whether working with individuals or design teams, we aim to deliver pieces that are clear in purpose and carefully made.
