Jonathan Thomas is a designer maker with 30 years in the creative industries and an award-winning portfolio built on design through making. His work spans interiors, installations, and furniture.

His career includes work for Paul Smith, Tom Dixon, and marketing campaigns for the National Gallery. He worked closely with Thomas Heatherwick to create Heatherwick Studio’s early projects.

Recipient of two D&AD Black Pencils in different design disciplines, including manufacturing design. He has lectured in 3D design at UCA Canterbury and taught making at London Metropolitan University. He founded the multidisciplinary design company Make Limited and built a creative team whose work ranged from nightclubs in Ibiza to products for Colette in Paris.

Now based in London, he designs and makes bespoke furniture under the Jonathan Maker name, and founded Stornish, an online homeware brand whose products are handmade in small batches, some entirely from waste materials.
